As both a Certified Financial Planner™ and an Investment Advisor Representative, I have pledged to only operate in the best interests of my clients.  This is actually the highest legal standard that exists for advisors, and is technically known as a “Fiduciary Standard”.

Others, stockbrokers and insurance agents, legally operate only under a “suitability” standard, where recommendations must simply not be detrimental to you, which can, and often does, create a conflict of interest. I do not believe that a recommendation simply being “OK” is acceptable or desirable. I believe that you deserve the best! Rather than focusing on products, incentives, sales quotas and proprietary offerings that benefit a firm, we focus on solutions designed for you.

Advisors who hold themselves to a Fiduciary Standard can not offer "rule-of-thumb" advice because it may not (and most likely is not) in a person's best interest. Examples would be advice to always use a 4% portfolio withdrawal rate, or to always wait to age 70 to collect social security, or to always buy an annuity or a particular mutual fund company's offerings. I believe that an advisor has an obligation to explain why a recommendation is in your best interests.

Fiduciary duty legally extends solely to investment advisory advice and does not extend to other activities such as insurance or broker dealer services.  Advisory clients are charged a monthly fee for assets under management while insurance products pay a commission, which may result in a conflict of interest regarding compensation. As a CFP, I have pledged to operate under a fiduciary standard in all areas of practice including insurance sales.

I offer investments through Brookstone Capital Management LL C (BCM), a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) regulated by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on a fee basis and insurance as an independent broker on a commission basis. Thus, unlike a bank or brokerage employee, I am positioned to offer you a large array of investment and insurance offerings.

My process is educational: to access your unique  situation and provide you with your best options in the areas that you need to make decisions. As a CFP, I have university training to provide advice in all of the area that you need to discover your ideal financial road map.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have worked in the petrochemical industry and as a business owner of a manufacturing and wholesale distribution company.
